Opti-Shield Liquid PPF - The Future Of Paint Protection Is Here | Bettendorf, IA

I just had the great pleasure (and challenge) of installing 4 layers of Opti-Shield Liquid PPF to a brand new 2026 GMC Yukon Denali. And wow - this Black Beauty looked awesome when it rolled into the shop, and even deeper, glossier, and shinier when it left. Ceramic Coatings accomplish this task as well but Opti-Shield is much thicker, leaving more depth and more protection.

What Is The Install Process?

After a thorough prep wash to remove decontaminants like bugs from your vehicle we also very lightly machine polish the paint to ensure it is clean on a microscopic level. Then, we use a paint prep spray to remove any oils or residue remaining from the polishing process - this is a crucial step to ensure that any coatings permanently bond to your clear coat and go the distance.

Then, we apply Opti-Shield by hand - panel by panel, layer by layer - making sure the coverage is even and causing your paint to shine without streaks. If installed improperly you will see white streaks that cannot be removed by washing or wiping. When installed properly, you'll achieve a shine in the sun you wouldn't believe. The surface is slick and dense. You will immediately feel a sense of relief considering moments like brushing up against a door or bumping something into your tailgate while taking our groceries and things out of the trunk.

How Long Is The Cure Time?

In-between layers the minimum cure time is 1 hour. The first 24 hours are the most crucial for the coating and the full cure time is 7 days. Then the hardness properties have fully set it and your paint is protected for the long haul against chemicals, the environment, and added scratch and scuff resistance. So, basically, don't wash it for a week. Also, we can add a ceramic coating on top like we did on this Denali and after 4 hours you can take it out in the rain and not worry about the cure time - plus you'll have added gloss and protection.

Protection With Peace Of Mind

Liquid PPF was designed as a middle-ground protection option between ceramic coatings and traditional paint protection film so you can daily drive the vehicle you love with peace of mind. With paint getting thinner and thinner, protection against scratches and organic threats - like bugs, bird droppings, industrial fallout, salt, and other contaminants we face in the Midwest and especially the Quad Cities - has become necessary for staying in love with the way your vehicle looks for its lifetime. Reach out to get the ultimate protection for the vehicle you love.
