1. Chemistry
The Pro line of coatings from Opti-Coat are engineered with Silicon Carbide (SiC) which is a completely different category than typical Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) coatings. SiC creates a lasting, covalent bond with your paint’s clear coat. SiO2 coatings rely on a resin to adhere to the surface of the paint which can only last so long on your daily driver or even show car.
When you want your paint to go the distance, SiC is the way to go.
2. Maintenance
The Pro line does not require any toppers or yearly maintenance. While a yearly decontamination wash is recommended for best performance, it is not necessary. The only coating that offers a yearly maintenance program is the limited lifetime warranty option for Pro 3. This is to inspect the paint and give it a thorough decon wash, no toppers added. If you aren’t wanting this option, then Pro 3 simply reverts to a 10-year warranty with no necessary inspection/maintenance.
